The Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature - Sustainable Mining
As founder and CEO of the Rainmaker Group, Gabriel Holschneider invests in people and businesses that demonstrate a capacity to change the world. As part of his commitment to improving lives around him, Gabriel Holschneider concurrently serves as a board member of the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature or (FONDO MEXICANO PARA LA CONSERVACIÓN DE LA NATURALEZA in spanish - FMCN).
The FMCN is one of Latin America's first and most successful conservation funds. The organization was established to support environmental pursuits throughout Mexico to protect the nation's natural beauty.
FMCN is currently working on a lengthy sustainable mining project. Mineral mining has always been an important part of the Mexican economy. However, mining practices carry inherent environmental risks, many of which have never been properly evaluated. FMCN seeks to change this through a widespread research mission.
To enact change in the mining industry, FMCN is working to collect all available data about the industry's impacts on surrounding environments. From there, the organization will attempt to use that data to garner support for conservation efforts and political change.
