Rejuvenate Healthcare Helps Renal Patients Access Transplants
Rainmaker Group founder and chair Gabriel Holschneider built his consulting firm from the ground up, and now helps his clients with risk management and mitigation. Gabriel Holschneider is also active in the world of medical advocacy, and supports the efforts of Rejuvenate Healthcare.
Rejuvenate Healthcare works hard to improve the lives of patients living with end stage renal disease (ESRD). In addition to providing support for day-to-day problems, the organization dreams of revolutionizing the way the healthcare industry manages ESRD patients and transplants.
As it stands, ESRD patients account for 7.5 percent of Medicare expenditures. Americans spend upwards of $50 billion annually on care for ESRD patients, but many still go without the transplants they need.
According to Rejuvenate Healthcare, economic changes to the renal healthcare system could result in 100 percent of eligible patients receiving a kidney transplant. Organization founder Alvin Roth, PhD, developed a new and improved matching algorithm. This innovative approach to donor matching won him a Nobel Prize in Economics in 2012, and will facilitate faster kidney transplants for patients as it is adopted widely.
